With the success/interest in last year's tour (of Kuck Motorsports) we have arranged another private tour! You may have noted a place-holder in your Missouri Valley Chapter newsletter(s) this year for a tour of Speedway Motors Museum. Well, this is it, the details are set and here is the deal:
What: Tour of Speedway Motors - Museum of American Speed
When: Saturday, December 5th - 10AM (sharp!) and tour will take approximately 2-1/2 hours.
Where: 600 Oak Creek Drive - Lincoln, NE 68528
How: Your RSVP must be sent to me (Chet Dawes - driving@bmwccamvc.org) no later than November 22nd! (Speedway will staff specifically for us according to our planned attendance for the guided tour, so we must commit in advance) If you RSVP to attend, please bring the $10 admission with you to the event. No-shows cost our club and we must pay in advance, so please come if you say you will or we may have to send Jeff after you to collect.
It has been a number of years since I went through the museum (at their former location) and it was WELL worth the price of admission and time commitment. I've heard the new facility is even better with more of the huge collection on display and I'm excited to see it. The collection rotates too, so if you haven't been for a while you may want to come again to see new items. If you like rare/odd engines and unique vintage speed equipment - this is a must see collection. If you like early race cars, this is a must attend event. The collection of vintage pedal cars and automobilia is outstanding! This museum isn't open to the public on weekends, so here is your chance to see it at a convenient time together with other enthusiasts.
Special Note: I've been advised that the museum is not appropriate for small children, sorry - house rules. (teenage kids should be fine)
We could meet for breakfast before and/or lunch afterward depending on the desires of the group. If you have a preference or a desire to do this; please let me know with your RSVP and we'll arrange it.

Detailed Driving Directions
Coming from the west on I-80:
1. Exit to West “O” street at exit 396.
2. The stoplight is at West “O” street.
3. Turn left (East) 2.2 mi to Sun Valley Blvd., US Rte. 6 (MacDonald’s/U-Stop on right).
4. Turn left (North) 0.3 mi to Westgate Blvd. (traffic light).
5. Turn left (west) 0.1 mi; to Oak Creek Blvd. (first street)
6. Turn left on Oak Creek Blvd. 50 yards to the entrance to The Smith Collection at the west end of the gray over white building on your left.
Coming from the east on I-80:
1. Driving westbound, Exit 397
2. Follow the ramp to the first, unmarked exit to the right off the ramp. The stoplight is at West “O” street.
3. Turn left (East) on 1.5 mi to Sun Valley Blvd., US Rte. 6 (MacDonald’s/U-Stop on right).
4. Turn left (North) 0.3 mi to Westgate Blvd. (traffic light).
5. Turn left (west) 0.1 mi; to Oak Creek Blvd. (first street).
6. Turn left on Oak Creek Blvd. 50 yards to the entrance to The Smith Collection at the west end of the gray over white building on your left.
Coming from Kansas City
beginning @ NE-2 @ 87th Street stoplight, (Lincoln Walmart is on right/north)
1. NE-2 (West & North), 7.1 mi.
2. Keep straight (North) onto South 10th Street for 2.0 mi
3. Turn left (West) onto “O” Street for 1.0 mi.to Sun Valley Blvd.,/US-6 (MacDonald’s/U-Stop on left).
4. Turn right (North) 0.3 mi to Westgate Blvd. (traffic light).
5. Turn left (west) 0.1 mi; to Oak Creek Blvd. (first street).

1. North on US-77
